Ear Plugs allow workers to hear conversations, signals and other critical sounds clearly—without impairment. If an arc flash occurs, the calibrated noise filter activates immediately to suppress the noise to a safer level—without delay—reducing the chance of hearing damage and concussive disorientation.

Features a nonlinear acoustical design with a calibrated filter within the plug stem.

Ear Plugs are designed for those who are frequently exposed to potential electric arc hazards(see NFPA electrical standard for further information on personal protection recommendations for arc hazards). The yellow earplug tip incorporates a patented technology designed for, tested and used by the US military to allow clear hearing during non-hazardousx noise and instant protection against impulse noise such as electric art blast above 110dB. Estimated attenuation ranges from O to 22dB.

With double-end versatility, workers just have to insert the plug’s red end for protection against extended exposures to continuous hazardous noises.

Always do a hazard assessment. You will need to know electrical system voltage, fault current available, number of phases, Arc time duration, estimated Arc gap, minimum distance from the Arc, and Arc configuration.
